About Us

Welcome to Susie's Stuff!

My name is Shannon, and alongside Jenny the kid and Susie the dog, I own and operate Susie's Stuff.

We're all huge fans of learning. I'm a former teacher and current home educator. Jenny has been in the mainstream school system and is now enjoying eclectic home education. Susie loves learning new tricks, particularly if they involve getting lots of praise and treats.

We started our toy and educational supply store in Croydon, Victoria because we wanted to share that love of learning with the community and we were ready for a new challenge as a family.

We run our shop in line with our values. We have tried wherever possible to buy products made in Australia by other small Australian family businesses. We opt for minimal packaging when it's an option and try to minimise the plastic in the store (including in regards to the toys themselves). Our store welcomes all members of the community. We're wheelchair accessible (really, not even a tiny step and lots of room to manoeuvre once you're in). We have two different sensory tents and a quieter session on Sunday arvo (not during the week when lots of neurodivergent people are at work or school). We really mean it - come as you are and we're happy to see you!

As well as selling toys, learning resources and some other fun things, we also offer free advice and expertise in education. Whether you would like advice about navigating mainstream school, or starting your home education journey, we'd be happy to help.
